Hello Autumn!!!

     Wow! I can't believe we are about to begin the 7th week of school! The end of the nine weeks will be here before you know it! We have been so busy at school. We are learning about land and water in science and we have been most excited to learn observe Gardenia. She's the beautiful garden spider that has made her web right outside our class window. As you can see in the picture below, she has also laid an egg sac. The spiderlings will hatch in the Spring. We will keep a careful eye on it for the next few months! Gardenia will hang around until the first hard frost.

In Language Arts we have been working on a research project of famous Inventors. We created a newspaper articles about great inventors such as Ben Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell and the Wright Brothers, just to name a few.

During our Math Investigation Sessions, we learn games which help us with adding, subtracting and place value. Below students are playing Close to 100 in small groups.

Info to Know!!

This week begins the Scholastic Book Fair at Polenta! Our class will be going this Wednesday, Oct. 7th. If you plan to send money with your child, please send it on this day. Parent night will be on Thursday evening from 5-8pm.

Fall Fundraiser Please turn in collections on October 12th. Please help us raise money for our school!

There will be NO School on Friday, October 23rd due to a teacher workday.

The Polenta Fall Festival will be on Friday, November 6th.
