Fall Fun!!!!

Wow! Can you believe we are already 2 weeks into the 2nd Nine Weeks!?! Time is flying by! We are having so much a long the way! Check out some of the cool things that we've been doing!

We enjoyed doing some sweet math for Halloween!

 The Fall Festival was so much fun! Look who came to see me at the Hair Spray Booth!! :) Thanks to everyone who donated and came out to support our school!!! It was a Blast!!!

Hello Autumn!!!

     Wow! I can't believe we are about to begin the 7th week of school! The end of the nine weeks will be here before you know it! We have been so busy at school. We are learning about land and water in science and we have been most excited to learn observe Gardenia. She's the beautiful garden spider that has made her web right outside our class window. As you can see in the picture below, she has also laid an egg sac. The spiderlings will hatch in the Spring. We will keep a careful eye on it for the next few months! Gardenia will hang around until the first hard frost.

In Language Arts we have been working on a research project of famous Inventors. We created a newspaper articles about great inventors such as Ben Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell and the Wright Brothers, just to name a few.

During our Math Investigation Sessions, we learn games which help us with adding, subtracting and place value. Below students are playing Close to 100 in small groups.

Info to Know!!

This week begins the Scholastic Book Fair at Polenta! Our class will be going this Wednesday, Oct. 7th. If you plan to send money with your child, please send it on this day. Parent night will be on Thursday evening from 5-8pm.

Fall Fundraiser Please turn in collections on October 12th. Please help us raise money for our school!

There will be NO School on Friday, October 23rd due to a teacher workday.

The Polenta Fall Festival will be on Friday, November 6th.

Welcome to 3rd Grade!!

Welcome Back to School! Our first week of school went by so quickly and the students did amazing!! We give it a HUGE thumbs up! 

We have also been having fun getting to know each other through cooperative learning groups and team building activities!

Agendas

Homework and and any behavior issues will be marked in agendas each day. Please check and sign daily. 

Tuesday Folders

Tuesday info/work will come home in students binders each Tuesday. If the packet is stapled, has a numerical grade as well as 'please sign and return', please review the graded work, sign it and return in their binders.

* We will not have Media as an enhancement this year. We will visit every couple of weeks to check out books. Students can continue to go 2 at a time in the mornings before the tardy bell. Thanks!
